In honor of Labor Day - which has nothing to do with giving birth haha. I thought I would post a few letters that I wrote to Persephone pre-delivery. I loved that I started doing those letters from the moment I found out I was pregnant. One day when she's old enough, I hope they mean as much to her as they did to me....well still do!!

Today was your ultrasound, like at the 20-week ultrasound, you were sucking your thumb and refused to move your arm so we could get a profile picture. The ultrasound technician said you weighed 5lbs and were in the 47th percentile – I guess that means you’re an average baby, but you’ll always be extra special to us. She suspected you wouldn’t go over 7lbs (if that) at birth. She also said all of your measurements looked great and we’re still accurate with your due date of October 6th. She also re-confirmed you’re a girl ha ha. Unfortunately my blood pressure was elevated today, I know it was just from being anxious to see you, but the doctor asked me to come back on Monday to monitor it. Only 6 weeks left!

I went in today to get my blood pressure checked; it was still a little high, but not as bad as before. I told the doctor I’ll check it on my own and let him know if it gets high again, otherwise I go back next Tuesday to follow up.

Today was our baby shower for you. We had it at the Flowery Branch Train Depot (in downtown historic Flowery Branch). Mom (your Mimi) and Tabitha put it together for us. It was beautiful! We had a lot of guests stop by to show their love for you, you ended up with so many gifts – especially clothes. I can’t wait to dress you up and see how sweet you are in these adorable outfits. It was a very long day, but well worth it.

I had another appointment today, your heart rate was 135bpm and my belly was measuring 38cm. Not much longer and we’ll be meeting you face to face! My blood pressure was still higher than the doctor liked…but otherwise I’m feeling great!
