More reasons to stick with Zuiliy

www.zulily.com

Aside from pretty decent prices, I'm so impressed with Zulily's customer service!

During one order, two of the items were delayed about two weeks and Zulily admitted they didn't know when the items would arrive and gave me the option to cancel.  Since they have a "no return" policy I was happy to be given the option to change my mind.  Basically Zulily just posts the deals and ships them, they don't manufacture any of the goods sold so that's why there can be a delay in shipment....but as long you understand that you're good as gold!

Another order a few weeks later, I ordered two tops.  Neither of which fit correctly or even looked remotely okay on me.  I reached out to them via email asking what I should do.  They replied apologizing I wasn't happy with the items and automatically applied a credit to my account equivalent of the items.  Also said if I don't plan on wearing them to donate them to a shelter. HOW NICE!

Then last week I placed another small order via their "READY TO SHIP" section, which one would think you would get the item sooner -vs- later.  A day later it showed the items were "In Transit to Zulily", but when I checked it on Monday it had gone back to "Processing."  I reached out again and they applied a $5 credit to my account.

I wasn't expecting a credit for either of the last two inquiries, but I'm glad to see they do offer options/compensation when orders don't go as planned!  Start shopping people ;)

Impetigo

It's sad how "sickly" Persephone has been the last year.  Her immune system has certainly been tested....between ear infections, upper respiratory, a urinary tract infection...I mean really!?

Last Tuesday I was getting her ready for the pool after dinner and I noticed these "bug bites" on the inside of her right arm.  To me they looked like ant bites for the most part, but none of them had any substance to them, they were just red.  (Some images may be graphic I guess....)

Tuesday 6/16/15

That week we tried some hydro cortisone cream and A&D ointment (when she would allow it.)  They just kept getting more irritated. Finally Friday after we picked her up from daycare, we decided to swing by Urgent Care.  The doctor looked at it and diagnosed her with impetigo.

Friday 6/19/15

You can obviously tell the one in her armpit got MUCH worse
after just a few days...

impetigo: a highly contagious bacterial skin infection most common in pre-school children.  It's more common around the nose or mouth.  But nonbullous impetigo starts as a red sore which eventually busts and leaks then forms a honey colored scabbing.  The sores are not painful, but can by itchy.  Although we never noticed Persephone scratching them...

So the doctor prescribed her with an oral antibiotic and said she wouldn't be contagious after 24-48hrs.  Of course I freaked out wondering if she had passed it around school and/or if Hardy and I had caught it.  Honestly it was slightly scary because what appeared to be minimal turned out to be a legit issue.  Thankfully she's healing great now.

This was Sunday 6/21/15

Armpit looking better

As of this morning she has no scabs, just dark pink spots where the sores were.  According to the doctor and internet, they shouldn't scar....we shall see.

So keep your eyes peeled parents!  If it doesn't look normal..chances are it's not.

Chestatee Wildlife Preserve

Sunday we went with Hardy's parents church and their youth group to the Chestatee Wildlife Preserve in Dahlonega.

Aside from being puked on by Persephone on the trip up and it being horrifically hot/humid we did have a nice visit.  The property is clean and maintained well.  I was afraid with it being a small operation the animals may not have proper housing, but overall it seemed fine.  And there wasn't an abundance of junk or waste in the houses either.

My favorite animals were probably the zebras because they were as close to domestic as you could get (aside from the donkey.)  They would eat from your palm and let you briefly pet them.  At the end of our tour they provided a small animal encounter for the group.  I was lazy and decided to sit in the cool A/C in the car so I missed it, but Hardy snapped some photos!

Simon Augustus

I love that I caught him with his mouth open slightly.
He's either smiling or talking.

This squirrel and I....well he appeared tame and then
bit my finger when he realized I didn't have food to share.

There's a savannah cat to the left laying down.
These are actually sold as designer cats for a lot of money,
But illegal in most states.
