Baby Shower

I'm not sure what source every one is consuming their water from, but it definitely has a fertility booster in it. I have to use BOTH HANDS to count how many people I personally know who are expecting a baby. This is insane!! I think it's safe to say we have reached a new baby boom...don't you?

Today we celebrated Heath & Chelsea's shower for their little boy Hayden who is due in July (I think he's coming sooner, don't know why...I just do!). I joked with Hardy that I was planning on catching the bouquet at the shower - - don't worry, I know there isn't really a bouquet for baby shower's, I was just trying to use a clever way to say I want one!!

Before I get into photo's from the shower, I have to show off these ADORABLY cute photo's of Chelsea & Heath from a photo shoot with our mutual friend, Heather earlier in the week. If you like her work - - definitely check out her Facebook Page - Taylor'd Images

Is she not beautiful or what?!

Pre-shower - - - aren't the clothes hanging on the line the cutest idea?

The MOST delicious food I've had in a loooong time

Our niece Halie with Beckham

This was such a neat idea

Game time - - match the socks!

Guess the stinky diaper!

This was very entertaining :)

The cutie-pie mommy to be

Guess the correct string length

One of the BEST gifts of the day was this onsie stating "I still live with my parents".  It's suits them well since they live with Heath's mom :)

1 Year Blogging Anniversary

I have officially been blogging for one full year, I'm so proud of myself.  Even though some posts were far between, some were absolute nonsense, because I had nothing to really write about.  I am happy I was able to keep something going for this long though, even if it's just a small smidge in the internet world.  Thank you blogger and those of you who have read, the few that have been following me and anyone who actually continues to read this.

Dismals Canyon

My mom found out about this National Natural Landmark called Dismals Canyon earlier this year, not to be confused with a National Park.  It's privately owned and operated and I hope they keep it that way.  We arrived somewhere between 4-5pm on Friday evening to check into our cabin, we were shown around by a very kind gentleman named Royce.  The cabin was equipped with a full kitchen (supplied), 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms, sleeping 8 people comfortably with a gorgeous wrap around porch to a wooded atmosphere.  It was so peaceful and serene, you immediately felt stress-free upon arrival.

I LOVE this sign, it's so cute...

We had no idea this drawing was on this rock til AFTER we took these photo's, weird huh??

I encourage you to click on these photo's and look at them in larger form, absolutely beautiful

Such an abundance of GREEN-ness

Dismals was absolutely breathtaking and I suggest every one should go there to experience it's beauty.

Thursday's Thought For The Day

Don't let the thoughts and expressions of other's affect you and your life.

I keep telling myself this in hope's that one day it will eventually sink in, but who am I kidding?? Almost every thing is easier said than done.  I've been a passive person most of my life, choosing to go with the flow so not to stir the pot.  In most cases, it's easier to be non-confrontational about certain things, but as I've gotten older, I realize I'm being walked on instead if diffusing things.  I feel more accomplished when I've stood up for myself, but then immediately start to worry about what may occur down the road as a result of being so up front and forward.  I NEED TO STOP DOING THAT and so should you.

I'm still struggling with letting people "get to me", a lot of the time it appears that's what their mission is - - to get under your skin.  Life is too short to worry about what people say or think.  If you can stand your ground respectively, do so and move on about your day.  No one.is.better.than.you.  No one deserves to be badgered and broken down.  I struggle daily with trying to balance being passive and aggressive, but I'm trying and I won't give up.

I am Amanda, I am ME and I wasn't born to please you.  Treat me with respect and I shall do the same in return.
