I'm so excited!

I'm going to postpone Monday's Top 10 to next week, I just can't contain myself and have to post about this EXCITING news (no I'm not pregnant)

BUT....

For our anniversary, birthday's and Christmas this year - per Hardy - we are going on a Disney cruise!!

I won't say when because I don't want weirdo's to know when I'm not home.  But, you can bet your bottom dollar (because that's pretty much all we have now) that there will be a very loooooong and detailed post about the trip once we return.  It's still some time away, I will say that.

After he made me the delicious dinner, he told me our mutual gift was a Disney cruise.

We're doing a 4 night on the Disney Dream (Disney's brand new ship) that goes to Nassau and Castaway Cay.  I can't wait, I am just in "awe".

We've never been on a Disney cruise before so this should be exciting all around, I've only heard good things about them....I do fear, however, that once we go Disney, we'll never go back ha ha ha.  Our budget may not like that too much.  I just LOVE my husband :)

Details I snagged from Wikipedia:

The Disney Dream is a much larger ship than its two older fleet-mates, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, with a design gross tonnage (GT) of 128,000 tons, a length of 330 meters and a width of 37 meters, making it 40% larger than the Disney Magic and Disney Wonder.

The Dream has 1,250 staterooms and wi-fi throughout. The ship also features the first water coaster at sea, called "The Aquaduck".

Unlike her sister ships, the Disney Magic and the Disney Wonder, which only play the first verse of "When You Wish Upon a Star", the Dream's ship horn is able to play six different Disney songs:

2 verses from
"When You Wish Upon a Star"
"A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes"
"Be Our Guest."
"Yo Ho (A Pirate's Life for Me)"
"Hi-Diddle-Dee-Dee (An Actor's Life for Me)"
"It's a Small World"

The Disney Dream has many recreational activities.

Including a 9 hole mini-golf course, a walking track, and digital sports simulators that provide virtual game experiences such as soccer, tennis, basketball, and golf. There also is a full-sized basketball court that can be converted for use as a soccer pitch, volleyball court, or football/table tennis area. There are also two smaller sport courts for younger children.

The AquaDuck, a 765-foot long winding waterslide with a four-deck drop and a course that winds 13 feet over the edge of the ship and through the ship's forward funnel. The AquaDuck runs the width of the ship and the length between the funnels, almost the size of a U.S. football field. Other water activities include a Mickey's Slide and 3 pools. All pools contain fresh water.

The adult-only, Quiet Cove Pool, includes a series of connecting pools with depths ranging from 4 ft to 6 inch sun-bathing pools with a bar at the end of the 6 inch "pool". There are also hot tubs for adults & families, some of which have glass in the floor so you can see down the side of the ship.

The Disney Dream boasts multiple dining venues, including 3 rotational dining restaurants, 2 adult-only restaurants, a buffet, and multiple bars, lounges, and quick service stations.

Animator's Palate, a Main Dining restaurant serves a contemporary Pacific Rim cuisine with an American flair. The restaurant is inspired by the magic of Disney animation.

Enchanted Garden is the second Main Dining experience onboard the Disney Dream, inspired by the picturesque gardens of Versailles, Enchanted Garden boasts a market-inspired menu of mouthwatering flavors from around the world for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

Royal Palace is inspired by classic films like Sleeping Beauty, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs, Beauty and the Beast, and Cinderella. Royal Palace serves French-inspired, continental cuisine.

The Disney Dream is also home to Palo and Remy. Palo, like on its sister ships, the Disney Magic, Wonder, and Fantasy (2012), serves a Northern Italian cuisine for adults only. Remy, inspired from Disney's Ratatouille, serves an adult-only French-inspired cuisine. A lounge, Meridian, is a place for adults to go before of after their dinner. The name Meridian plays off its location between Remy and Palo.

SOON MICKEY, VERY SOON WE WILL SEE EACH OTHER AGAIN!!!

  1. You are going to have so much fun! That ship sounds AMAZING!!! I can't wait to hear all about it. I've never had the desire to go on a crusie, but after hearing about this ship I may be looking into it. You are so lucky that your husband planned this. Michael would never surprise me with anything like that. If I hadn't seen you talking about it on FB I totally would have thought you were pregnant with that title! :)

I wish my husband could pull off a surprise but I'm always the sneaky one trying to surprise him! He turns 30 in a few weeks and I'm planning a surprise trip to New Orleans and other parts of the bayou and I can't wait!!!

  3. The simulators offered at the SportsEntertainmentSpecialists website also provide the similar experience of those games. The thing however is that, this website allows you to take the experience at home, so be sure to check it out.
